Mini Excavator Operator

Duration 8 hrs (2 days)

Mobile equipment like mini excavators can cause serious work-related injuries and even death. To protect both operators and those working near these excavators, regulations made under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act require workers who operate them to be trained and competent. To be truly effective, training should be incorporated into overall occupational mobile equipment safety programs. The Mini Excavator Operator safety training program encompasses eight hours of training over two days. The first day comprises a six-hour, in-class session, followed on another date by a two-hour, practicum (the time depending on the operator experience). The practicum will serve as a hands-on training tool for new operators, as well as an evaluation for experienced ones.
